What's new in Les Arcs / Peisey-Vallandry
THE Transarc Metamorphosis
In December 2023, the metamorphosis of Transarc began. The first phase of the project aimed to facilitate access to the area. A successful bet with the design of a reception, advice and sales area, as well as the installation of a modern escalator facilitating access to the start of the Transarc from the Arc 1800 station.
This winter, experience with us the renewal of the emblematic link between the Arc 1800 resort and the summits. The new Transarc includes a complete transformation with more spacious cabins with 10 seats, significantly improving passenger comfort. The climbing speed will reach 7 meters per second for an ascent in 13 minutes compared to 20 minutes previously, an important issue in order to guarantee better fluidity when boarding.
At the summit, enjoy a 360° panorama, while at the intermediate point, a mineral gallery offers an exhibition of beautiful specimens.
Transarc
in numbers
This summer, visitors will also have the opportunity to discover new outdoor adventures and activities along the new line. From the Transarc intermediate station, they will be able to try out Mountain Kart, a fun and accessible activity for the whole family that promises thrilling descents to the Arc 1800 resort. At the top of the new gondola, access to the “La Tranks” and “Yellow Stone” mountain bike trails as well as the many hiking trails opens up the entire Arc 2000 sector to outdoor and thrill-seeking enthusiasts. These trails, suitable for all levels, offer an ideal setting to discover the natural beauty of the region.
In addition, a panoramic terrace invites contemplation, offering a relaxation area where visitors can admire the view of the surrounding peaks. Whether for a moment of rest after a hike or simply to appreciate the landscape, the terrace is the perfect place to recharge your batteries and enjoy the tranquility of the mountains in summer.
There mini track
The Minis trail (formerly the Cabanes trail), linking the top of the Villards cable car to 📍 Arc 1800, allows beginner skiers to discover the joys of skiing while arousing their curiosity about nature.
At the start, cross the giant magnifying glass to explore the fascinating world of the small inhabitants of our mountains. This symbolic door transports you into a universe populated by giant animals usually tiny to the naked eye!
Along the trail, meet various insects and even a giant ant. Huts line the route, offering educational breaks. A fun approach to understanding the importance of protecting this precious ecosystem.
