The most beautiful picnic spots in the Paradiski area.

We all know that mountain air takes it out of you and that picnic breaks are essential. To relax in the sun and admire the snowy peaks, ham sandwich in hand, there’s no better way to recover from a morning on the slopes. But how to find the perfect spot? Let us guide you. Here we’ll reveal our favourite spots for a picnic on the mountain.

La Pause at Montalbert

La Plagne

Do you know the Montalbert area in la Plagne? Nestled in the forest, you’ll discover slopes which snake between the trees, magical creatures to look out for as you ski and also a beautiful sunny plateau at the top of the Montalbert gondola. Spend a few moments soaking up the peace and tranquillity in our la Pause picnic area which has a great view over Mont Jovet.

Choose between our picnic tables for lunch or our wooden sun loungers for a spot of sunbathing…

The Comborcière viewpoint

Les Arcs

A little out of the way of the crowds, head to the top of the Comborcière chairlift to find a newly equipped picnic area. Overlooking the valley, opposite Mont Blanc, it’s the perfect place for a relaxing picnic in an outstanding setting. The picnic area is on several levels, each zone equipped for your comfort. There’s a picnic area with wooden tables and benches and a chill out area with sun loungers.

It’s the perfect spot to recharge your batteries before attacking the new Secret slope!

La Plagne

At the top of the Arpette chairlift, discover an equipped terrace with a breathtaking view of Mont Blanc. Sunny all day, this spot is in an ideal location between les Arcs and Peisey Vallandry for those who are attempting to ski across the whole Paradiski area.

Sit around the tables and share a special moment with your family or friends, you can even charge up your smartphones in our charging area. Le Plagn’Ange will keep you company during your meal and you can capture your image for posterity with our Yuge photo spot at the foot of the steel giant.

Les Arcs

It can’t be sunny every day and sometimes we just need to warm up indoors, so we thought a cosy little room would be perfect for your picnics. The Marmotte picnic room can be found at the foot of the Marmotte chairlift towards Arc 1950.

Here you can enjoy a little break inside that looks like a luxury chalet, at one of our large wooden tables. There are coffee machines too, for those of you who need a little boost before heading back out on the slopes!

Peisey-Vallandry

Over in Peisey Vallandry, you’ll find a lovely little terrace with some picnic tables for you to enjoy your lunch on. Here the view of the north face of the Bellecôte is just stunning. This picnic area is just at the bottom of the Aiguille Rousse. There’s no better way to enjoy a sunny break, at one with nature.

BONUS : Piste-side rocks and spots…

This article would not be complete without mentioning the picnic areas which aren’t really official picnic areas, but nevertheless offer plenty of charm for those looking for a great ski day.

All the rocks in the ski area would be delighted to be used as picnic spots while you eat your sandwich gazing at the mountains.

You’ve now had a good glimpse of where the most popular picnic spots are in the ski area, but there are also plenty of other picnic tables waiting for you all over the place. If you’re looking for a table, don’t forget to download the Yuge app where you’ll find in the map section, a ‘picnic table’ filter which will guide you to the closest one.
